I enjoy reading webpages that give me interesting information and perspectives that I can't get anywhere else. I like webpages with news, book reviews, or information about interesting people or places. If I had to make a webpage, I would make one that encompasses one of those themes.

Learning Excel

Learning how to use Microsoft Excel in Computer Apps was a very beneficial experience. I had known the basics of Excel for a long time, but learning how to do more complicated things will help me when I need to use Excel in the future. However, I use Excel the most for science class, so it would have been more beneficial if I had learned more about equations and graphs.

Program Eliza

In theory, the idea that we could attempt to program an artificial intelligence is very fascinating. It would not only teach us about artificial intelligence, but also about the nuance of human interaction. However, I found that the website we used to attempt to program Eliza would not work very well on my computer. Also, the instructions appeared simple, but I could not figure out how to actually get the code to work after I wrote it. If this program was easier to use and load, it would be a very cool project to undertake. However, it was so slow that I could not enjoy it as I should have.

Today in Computer Applications we were introduced to code. I first activity I did was the "write your first computer program" tutorial that had you drag blocks to make an angry bird icon move. This tutorial was very useful because it introduced me to the basic concepts on coding and began to teach me to think like a coder, all well appearing to be a game.The second activity I did was Lightbot. Lightbot was also a good activity because like the angry bird game, it taught you how to think through your commands and make sure you do everything as efficiently as possible.The last activity I did was the Lost In Space game from Tynker.This activity was a good way to introduce coding to young people because it was a simple and easy to understand.
